when i think of the phrase new york city, i always think of that pace picante commercial they aired years ago. not how many times i have been there. not the fact that at this point in my life, i know more people in nyc, than in the place i have lived for 27 years. not the twin towers. i hear a stupid commercial in my head.
and i know i have spent too much time in the city, when first of all, i call it "the city". second of all, i hate it when tourists stop on the street for photos. get out of the damn way. google that shit. but don't stop in the middle of the danged sidewalk to take a photo of times square. it's loud, and bright, and busy. the solution to this is simple, move to the side. out of the way. i mean wow!
reminder: i am not a new yorker.
don't get me wrong, i do love it. it is the place where someone in my line of work, could thrive. i enjoy the hurry. i enjoy every tiny restaraunt, and deli i find. that there is a starbucks on virtually every corner. that i can fit in there with no real issues.
you're wondering right now, why i don't live there, aren't you faithful reader...
there are not enough trees. and don't even start with the central park arguement. that park doesn't hold a card to where i live.
i have a head-ache, and i am off to bed, and then...
NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!
